It was early in Ronald Reagan's political career that questions were raised about his early Hollywood performances, most notably his appearance in 'Bedtime for Bonzo'.
It has come to light that original prints of the film were vastly different to those in circulation today. For one thing, there was none of this 'separate beds' nonsense. According to reliable sources, the real version involved all out red-hot monkey love. Thus the resulting cover-up and the biggest ruse in film history.
"It really wasn't all that hard," claimed an anonymous email from an ex-CIA agent. "as virtually no-one went to see the original, and those that did changed their minds about what they saw real quick."
The missive went on to explain that while the movie was seen widely by US troops in Korea, most units that viewed the simian spectacle were front line troops who suffered a high casualty rate.
"We just got lucky there," wrote the source, "but things did get pretty hairy when we first released the altered print. Experts came out of the woodwork to claim it was a fake and a lot of film critics had to be given the 'thumbs down', if you know what I mean."
